First Tee – Coachella Valley enables kids to build character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges.
The Golf-A-Thon is a wonderful way for our First Tee families to join together to keep our life-changing character education program available to the kids and teens of the Coachella Valley!
No child is ever turned away from the program for an inability to pay. First Tee programs are offered to all kids and teens in the community at low-cost or no-cost.
This year, we have renamed our Golf-A-Thon in loving memory of Coach Peanut Butter Cups, whom we lost this year. This event now carries their name forward as a tribute to the joy, dedication, and spirit they brought to our First Tee family, and as a celebration of the lasting impact they had on the kids and teens they coached.

Many of you may remember Kyle Winn, who served as our Program Coordinator/Director and later our Executive Director here at First Tee – Coachella Valley from 2020 to 2025. Kyle was one of the most dedicated, warm, and mission-driven people this program has ever known. For five years, he showed up every single day with a genuine love for the young people of the Coachella Valley and an unwavering belief in what First Tee could do for their lives.
To the kids in our program, Kyle was always affectionately known as Coach “Peanut Butter Cups” and if your child ever had the joy of being in one of his classes, you probably already know exactly why. That nickname says everything about who Kyle is, fun, warm, generous, and the kind of coach who made every child feel seen, celebrated, and loved.
Kyle touched the lives of countless kids, families, coaches, and community members during his time with our chapter. If your child had the privilege of being coached, encouraged, or simply smiled at by Coach Peanut Butter Cups on the golf course, please know that his love for this program and for every young person in it was real, deep, and lasting.
Kyle believed that golf could change a young person’s life. We will carry that belief forward every single day in his memory.
